There is so much to see and do in the Fabulous City of Las Vegas that four days is just not enough time.


Convention Attendees will receive a Convention Fun Book that will outline all the things to see and do both indoors and outdoors, and will include easy to follow directions, contact information, costs of each attraction (if any) and discount coupons.

There are so many things to see and do in Las Vegas that it would be impossible to list them all.

Shows & Shopping












Hoover Dam 

Tour one of the great engineering wonders of the world.  Go deep inside the dam and see its incredible workings and construction.  Tours go all day, every day.  Hoover Dam is a 30 minute drive from Las Vegas and passes through historic Boulder City where you'll find souvenir shops and authentic western cooking.      


Fremont Street Experience

The Fremont Street Experience is 25 minutes from The Rio and is what many consider to be the original Las Vegas Strip.  It is now a pedestrian mall and attraction in downtown Las Vegas.   The FSE occupies the westernmost five blocks of Fremont Street, including the area known for years as "Glitter Gulch," and portions of some other adjacent streets.  There are nightly free concerts by national and local acts on three stages.


Neon Museum 

Take a stroll through Las Vegas history at this outdoor museum dedicated to saving and preserving vintage neon signs. The Neon Museum hosts guided tours through the Neon Boneyard, an incredible collection of retired neon signs, many of them from gone-but-not-forgotten downtown casinos.



Grand Canyon 

Grand Canyon National Park, in Arizona, is home to much of the immense Grand Canyon, with its layered bands of red rock revealing millions of years of geological history.  The Canyon is a 3-hour drive from Las Vegas but only a few minutes by helicopter which is the best and fastest way to see it. 


Red Rock Canyon

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is a 30-minute ride from the resort and lies in Nevada’s Mojave Desert. It’s known for geological features such as towering red sandstone peaks as well as Native American petroglyphs. Panoramic viewing spots dot the 13-mile Scenic Drive.  To the south, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park features historic buildings and hiking trails.


Valley of Fire State Park

Valley of Fire State Park is a public recreation and nature preservation area covering nearly 46,000 acres located one hour drive from Las Vegas. The state park derives its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone, which formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago.  Many Sci-Fi movies were filmed here including Star Trek Generations.

Lake Mead 

Lake Mead is a man-made lake that lies on the Colorado River, about 24 mi from the Las Vegas Strip, southeast of the city of Las Vegas.  It is the largest reservoir in the United States in terms of water capacity and feeds Hoover Dam.  Boats and jet skis are available to rent, or book a seat in the paddle wheeler and relax.

Town Square Las Vegas is an open-air shopping, dining, office, and entertainment center development on 93 acres on Las Vegas Boulevard just 20 minutes from the Rio Resort and features 120 stores, Raider Image team store, 18-screen movie theater, and over 20 restaurants.



Las Vegas Outlet Mall

Located on Las Vegas Blvd South just 25 minutes from the Rio Resort is home to 140 factory outlet stores. Casual and fast food options are spread throughout the mall to give customers plenty of places to stop for a rest and a snack.


Fashion Show Mall

Fashion Show is premium shopping mall located on the Las Vegas Strip 10 minutes from the Rio Resort.  All the name brand in fashions are represented here.  The mall hosts weekend fashion shows on a retractable runway within the mall's central atrium.

Furom Shops at Caesars

The Forum Shops at Caesars is 10 minutes from the Rio Resort and is a major 677,138-square-foot shopping mall connected to Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip is recognized as offering the premiere combination of luxury retail, excellent location, entertainment and ambient surroundings.  


The Colosseum at Caesars Palace

Located just 10 minutes from the Rio Resort in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, experience the "Home of the Greatest Entertainers in the World." Concertgoers will enjoy performances from some of the most groundbreaking artists of all time such as Rod Stewart, Celine Dion, Journey and Jerry Seinfeld to name a few.  


Penn & Teller

Penn & Teller are American magicians and entertainers who have performed together since the late 1970s, noted for their ongoing act that combines elements of comedy with magic.  The Penn & Teller Theater is located in The Rio Resort.



Love is a 2006 theatrical production by Cirque du Soleil which combines the re-produced and re-imagined music of the Beatles with an interpretive, circus-based artistic and athletic stage performance. The show plays at a specially built theater at the Mirage just 20 minutes from the Rio Resort.

Too Many Shows to List Them All

Las Vegas is called the Entertainment Capital of the World for reason.  The worlds finest and greatest entertainers are here on a regular basis.  Check online to find your favorites. 

Pawn Stars - Gold & Silver Pawn Shop

Home of the hit TV Show "Pawn Stars", the Pawn Shop specialize in rare collectibles, art and memorabilia.  Located on Las Vegas North just 20 minutes from The Rio Resort, the shop is open daily and can be toured at no charge.     



The Mob Museum

The Mob Museum, officially the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, is a history museum located in Downtown Las Vegas just 25 minutes from The Rio Resort. 


Shelby Museum

Shelby is located just off Las Vegas Blvd South and is 15 minutes from the The Rio Resort.  Learn how the GT 350 got its name and the history behind the cars from the very  first Shelby Cobra to the brand new Mustangs. ... Shelby American, a division of Carroll Shelby International, Inc.


Go-Cart Pole Position

Indoor Go Kart Racing in Electric Karts. Speeds approaching 45mph. All helmets & equipment provided. Race friends & family, or the clock. Located 7 minutes from the The Rio Resort.


Battlefield Las Vegas

Public Shooting Ranges

Rent a machine gun and test you metal.  There are several ranges all near-by the The Rio where you can rent everything from a handgun to a 'Ma Duce .50'.  We recommend The Range 702, Battlefield Vegas and American Shooters.  Refer to your Fun Book for special offers and discounts. 


Circus Adventure Dome

Adventuredome is a 5-acre indoor amusement park located at Circus Circus on the Las Vegas Strip.  Its a great place for the kids to have fun in a controlled in-door environment.


Atomic Testing Museum

The National Atomic Testing Museum documents the history of nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site in the desert north of Las Vegas. The museum operates as an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution.


Tournament of Kings

Tournament of Kings is located 10 minutes from The Rio resort and is Las Vegas’ ultimate dinner and a show experience. Adapted from the tale of King Arthur, this live-action production takes place in a 900-seat theater-in-the-round arena and immerses the audience in a tale of valor and treachery. Valiant knights ride mighty steeds and prove their chivalry amongst special effects and pyrotechnics. While knights fight, guests feast on a hearty three-course meal using the original utensil – their hands. Tournament of Kings is an epic portrayal of centuries past, and it’s all in the name of honor, country, and of course, food.

Madame Tussauds Wax Museum 

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas is a wax museum located in the Las Vegas Strip at The Venetian Las Vegas casino just 15 minutes from the The Rio Resorts.
